Enforce device restrictions for clocking in and out

Jibble’s Device Lock feature ensures that your members are tracking time at the right location by restricting which mobile devices team members can clock in and out from. This feature allows them to clock in/out on authorized devices only. 

Note: Device Lock only applies to mobile or tablets, not laptops or desktops.

Tip 💡: Enabling Device Lock alongside Face Spoofing Prevention eliminates fraudulent time entries, giving a much better time and attendance tracking experience for your company.


How to Enable Device Lock?

Device Lock settings can only be accessed by Owners and Admins.

Device Lock on Mobile

  1. Go to Menu > Time Tracking.Enabling Device lock on mobile
  2. Tap on Device Lock and tap the toggle to enable the feature for all members.
  3. Once done, tap on Save.

Notes:

  • All team members, including owners, admins, and managers, will be subjected to this setting. 
  • The device that a team member uses to clock in for the first time will be the device to which they are locked after this feature is enabled.
  • This feature can also be customized in group settings, overriding the default organizational settings. 

How to Reset Device Lock for Team Members?

Resetting Device Lock for a member can only be done by Owners and Admins. 

People settings on mobile

  1. Go to Menu > People.
  2. Tap on any member’s profile.
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to locate Device Lock.Resetting device lock for a team member on mobileNote: This setting is only visible if the feature has been activated for the team.
  4. Tap on Reset.
  5. A prompt will appear to confirm the reset of the device lock.
  6. Tap Reset once again to confirm your actions. 

Note: A member will no longer be restricted to their current device if admins or owners reset the device lock on their profile. The member will be locked onto the next device once they use it to clock in, clock out, or take a break.
