As a CEO of a time tracking and attendance app company, my team and I are constantly looking at the best B2B software to know what’s going on in the market. That means we’re often researching about and/or playing around with their products, you know, it’s part of the job. Here, I share my findings of that research, giving credit to those products where credit is due and being honest about which products I believe you really need to avoid. And so, there you have it, this review, and in it, I try to be honest, fair, and insightful. I hope it helps you make the right decision…

Keeping track of employees’ working hours is a crucial task for any organization. Accurately calculating their attendance and overtime hours ensures fair compensation and adherence to labor laws. While the traditional manual time card system can be tedious and prone to errors, modern technology has provided a more efficient solution through time card calculators.

These online tools not only simplify the process but also save time and resources for employers. In this article, I will explore the 10 best free employee time card calculators with lunch, in hopes of helping businesses streamline their timekeeping processes and increase productivity.

This Article Covers:

1. Jibble Time Card Calculator

Jibble’s free time card calculator is easy to figure out and use. Simply plug in your start time and end time, as well as the start time and end time of your breaks. The tool will then calculate the total number of hours worked, which appears in hours and minutes as well as in decimal form.

The Jibble calculator also has a section for calculating overtime, which helps ensure that your business stays compliant with FLSA overtime guidelines. There’s an option for you to choose which overtime laws to factor into your calculations, including FLSA overtime laws, California state overtime laws, and Canada ESDC laws. In addition, you have the option of rounding to 5 minutes, 6 minutes, and 10 minutes, as well as the option to go from a weekly time card to a biweekly time card.

If you’re also looking for a time card calculator that allows you to input the start and end times of breaks, this is what you’re looking for.

This is a customizable and flexible time card calculator that helps businesses make sure that they have accurate timekeeping records for accurate payroll.

Key Time Card Calculator Features

  • Allows you to input the start and end times of breaks
  • Customizable base pay rate and currency
  • Weekly or biweekly calculations
  • Allows you to input overtime pay rate
  • 12-hour or 24-hour format options
  • Option to round to 5, 6, or 10 minutes
  • Shareable via a link

2. Apploye Time Card Calculator

There are a lot of things that I like about Apploye, and its time card calculator with lunch breaks is one of them. The interface is clean and pleasant to look at, with a white background and attractive colors. The calculator also provides you with a ton of customization options, and you’ll be able to input the base hourly wage, the overtime pay rate, and the currency. You can also choose between weekly or biweekly calculations.

One feature that I haven’t seen in many other calculators is the auto-fill feature. Once you’ve filled up the clock-in and clock-out times as well as the lunch break duration for the first work day of the week, this feature will fill up the rest of the days of the week as well.

Key Time Card Calculator Features

  • Base pay rate and currency
  • Allows you to input overtime pay rate
  • Option to select which days to include
  • Includes breakdown of regular hours and overtime hours
  • Weekly or biweekly calculations
  • Auto-fill feature
  • Printable and can be exported as a CSV file

3. TimeCardCalculator.net

TimeCardCalculator.net’s tool is one of the best out there, allowing you to add as much relevant information to an employee’s time card as possible. It’s highly customizable, so you’ll be able to adjust the time clock format, adjust the pay period from 1 week up to 4 weeks, add one or two breaks to workday calculations, and more.

You can toggle all these options so that you can include the data you want to include and remove the data you don’t think is necessary. This makes this calculator flexible and suitable for a wide variety of businesses.

However, this time card calculator has quite an outdated interface. Another thing I don’t like is that it takes you to a different page if you want to make adjustments to the calculator. I’m not sure why it works this way when most other calculators I’ve encountered have all its controls on just one page.

Key Time Card Calculator Features

  • Base pay rate and overtime pay rate
  • Adjustable time clock format
  • Pay periods from 1 week up to 4 weeks
  • One, two, or no breaks
  • Option to automatically deduct breaks
  • Allows decimal hour format and decimal hour rounding

4. TimeClick Free Time Card Calculator

TimeClock’s time card calculator with lunch breaks is an easy-to-use tool that will add up all of the hours an employee has worked during a specific week. It will then deduct lunch breaks from the gross total. It’s simpler than many of the other calculators on this list and is designed to calculate regular hours worked as well as overtime hours.

Unfortunately, it won’t be able to calculate an employee’s regular pay as well as overtime pay. You’ll have to calculate that yourself. However, if you only wanted to calculate the number of hours an employee has worked, this calculator will be able to do that for you.

In general, I liked how simple and streamlined this calculator is. However, you only have the option to send a PDF file of the time card via email. It would have been better if users were able to download the time card straight from the page instead of having to go through the extra step of retrieving the file from your email.

Key Time Card Calculator Features

  • Allows you to input minimum overtime hours
  • Breaks down regular hours and overtime hours
  • Generates a PDF that can be emailed

5. Connecteam Time Card Calculator

The Connecteam time card calculator with lunch breaks boasts a clean and streamlined interface that’s easy to use. It also gives you a lot of customization options, which is why it’s one of my top picks. You can input the exact clock-in and clock-out times, as well as the exact duration of lunch breaks.

The tool will then calculate the total number of hours worked per day on a weekly or biweekly basis. It will also provide you with a breakdown of regular and overtime hours, as well as regular and overtime pay. These features are what make this tool one of the top time card calculators with lunch breaks.

Key Time Card Calculator Features

  • Allows you to input overtime pay rate
  • Weekly or biweekly calculations
  • Includes breakdown of regular pay and overtime pay
  • Printable and can be exported as a CSV or PDF file

6. Replicon Time Card Calculator

Replicon’s time card calculator is easy to use and offers a wide range of customization options. You can switch between weekly and biweekly timesheets with a single click, and you can also choose whether or not you want to calculate overtime hours. Once you hit the “Calculate” button, you’ll see the gross total of hours worked as well as the total number of overtime hours.

In addition, you can simply input the total duration of lunch breaks per day, and the calculate will automatically deduct it from the total work hours.

I was impressed by how much you can do with this calculator, and I think it can work well for different kinds of businesses that need to keep close track of overtime hours and overtime pay.

Key Time Card Calculator Features

  • Allows you to input the start and end times of breaks
  • Base pay rate and overtime pay rate
  • Includes breakdown of regular pay and overtime pay
  • Weekly or biweekly calculations
  • Auto-fill feature
  • Printable and can be exported as a CSV or XLS file

7. Toggl Time Card Calculator

What I liked about Toggl’s free time card calculator with lunch breaks is that you can round up or down to the nearest 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or 1 hour. You can also choose not to round up or down at all, which allows for exact time and pay calculations.

Another thing I liked is that you can input the exact start time and end time of your lunch breaks. This can help calculate the exact duration of your breaks, and it can also serve as a record of how you spend your workday.

However, the tool only allows you to input time in the 24-hour format. Other calculators allow you to choose between the 12-hour format or the 24-hour format, which I would have also liked to see Toggl’s calculator offer.

Key Time Card Calculator Features

  • Allows you to input base and overtime pay rate
  • Includes options for rounding up or down
  • Printable time card

8. Redcort Free Time Card Calculator

The Redcort calculator is designed to be intuitive to use, and you’ll be able to figure out how it works in no time. All you’ll need to do is input the clock-in and clock-out times, as well as the total duration of break times per day. The tool will then deduct the total break duration to come up with the total number of payable hours worked for a specific week.

One thing to note is that the tool doesn’t allow you to input the base hourly wage, and it also doesn’t calculate the number of overtime hours and overtime pay. Thus, it’s best for employees who aren’t entitled to overtime pay, part-time employees, and other kinds of workers that need to keep an accurate number of hours worked.

Key Time Card Calculator Features

  • Dropdown menus to switch between AM and PM
  • Clean and intuitive interface

9. When I Work Time Card Calculator

When I Work’s time card calculator with lunch breaks, meanwhile, has a nice clean interface and is easy to learn to use. Simply input the clock-in and clock-out times and the duration of lunch breaks, then the tool will instantly calculate the total number of hours worked for that week.

While I appreciate it when a tool is simple and streamlined, When I Work’s calculator is a bit too simple for me. It doesn’t allow you to input pay rates, so all you’ll get is the gross total of hours worked for the week you selected. I also don’t like that it makes downloading the timesheet complicated. You won’t be able to just download it outright; you’ll have to provide your email so the download link can be sent to you.

Key Time Card Calculator Features

  • Dropdown menus to switch between AM and PM
  • Clean and intuitive interface

10. Clock It Free Time Card Calculator

Looking for a biweekly time card calculator with lunch breaks? Clock It may have what you need. Not only is it designed for biweekly calculations, but it can also calculate the number of regular hours and overtime hours worked. You’ll then also get the total gross pay along with a calculation for overtime pay once it deducts the total duration of lunch breaks.

What I dislike about this tool, however, is that it has instructions that tell you to write time entries in a particular way. For example, instead of writing 8:30 AM, you should write 830a. However, this actually isn’t necessary, and the calculator will recognize 8:30 AM just fine.

Key Time Card Calculator Features

  • Base pay rate and overtime pay rate
  • Includes breakdown of regular hours and overtime hours
  • Weekly or biweekly calculations
